Stanley Goldstein, Chairman
Stanley Goldstein established Goldstein & Company in 1964, which grew into Goldstein Golub Kessler & Company. With Mr. Goldstein's leadership, GGK went on to become one of the largest single office accounting firms in the US when it was purchased by American Express in 1998. While at Goldstein Golub Kessler & Company, Stanley began working closely with City Associates, one of the very first hedge funds to enter the market. Mr. Goldstein was co-founder of Lucas Capital Management, one of the first hedge funds to specialize in Canadian Royalty Trusts. He was an early investor in Gerson Lehrman Group, the originators of the expert network consulting model and Quadriserv which brought transparency to the securities lending niche of the hedge fund market. His newest ventures are Fund Tax Services (a spinoff of WTAS) and Binary Event Network, a unique application allowing trading and hedging under the jurisdiction of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He is the founder of several nonprofits including American Friends of James Joyce and the Donors' Forum, a roundtable of grant-making foundations. Mr. Goldstein is a graduate of Brooklyn College and the founder of the New York Hedge Fund Roundtable.
Timothy P. Selby, President & Director
Tim Selby is a Partner in the New York offices of the law firm of Alston & Bird. Tim's practice focuses on advising clients with respect to the structuring, formation and management of hedge funds, publicly offered and privately placed commodity pools, and private equity funds. Additionally, Tim is licensed as a CPA, current Chair of the Committee on Futures and Derivatives Regulation for the New York City Bar Association, a member of the Futures Industry Association, a member of the Lawyers Advisory Forum of the Managed Funds Association, and an advisory board member for FiduciaryX. Tim received his J.D. from St. John's University and earned an M.B.A and B.B.A. from Iona College.
Timothy G. Sledge, Director
Mr. Sledge is a Principal and one of the senior analysts of Bessemer's Global Large Cap Equities Team. His specific coverage includes US and European large cap banks and life insurance companies. Prior to joining Bessemer, he was with Davis Advisors, Robert R. Meredith & Co., BlackRock, and Sanford C. Bernstein where he covered life insurance companies as a research associate. Mr. Sledge is a CFA charterholder and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. degree in English and Economics.
Carol Van Atten, Vice President
Carol Van Atten is currently the Vice President for Programs at the Charles Hayden Foundation in New York, which focuses on the development of children and youth in the New York and Boston metropolitan areas. Carol oversees the grantee progress within an annual portfolio of $17 million and is responsible for establishing grant strategies. Carol also serves as Chair of the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Global Impact Funding Trust and is a Member of the Corporation of the New York Botanical Garden. She has served on the Allocations Committee for the New York Women's Foundation. Carol received her AB in Economics from Vassar College and JD from Brooklyn Law School.
