Stanley Goldstein, Chairman
Stanley Goldstein established Goldstein & Company in 1964, which grew into Goldstein Golub Kessler & Company. With Mr. Goldstein's leadership, GGK went on to become one of the largest single office accounting firms in the US when it was purchased by American Express in 1998. While at Goldstein Golub Kessler & Company, Stanley began working closely with City Associates, one of the very first hedge funds to enter the market. Mr. Goldstein was co-founder of Lucas Capital Management, one of the first hedge funds to specialize in Canadian Royalty Trusts. He was an early investor in Gerson Lehrman Group, the originators of the expert network consulting model and Quadriserv which brought transparency to the securities lending niche of the hedge fund market. His newest ventures are Fund Tax Services (a spinoff of WTAS) and Binary Event Network, a unique application allowing trading and hedging under the jurisdiction of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He is the founder of several nonprofits including American Friends of James Joyce and the Donors' Forum, a roundtable of grant-making foundations. Mr. Goldstein is a graduate of Brooklyn College and the founder of the New York Hedge Fund Roundtable.
Timothy P. Selby, President & Director
Tim Selby is a Partner in the New York offices of the law firm of Alston & Bird. Tim's practice focuses on advising clients with respect to the structuring, formation and management of hedge funds, publicly offered and privately placed commodity pools, and private equity funds. Additionally, Tim is licensed as a CPA, current Chair of the Committee on Futures and Derivatives Regulation for the New York City Bar Association, a member of the Futures Industry Association, a member of the Lawyers Advisory Forum of the Managed Funds Association, and an advisory board member for FiduciaryX. Tim received his J.D. from St. John's University and earned an M.B.A and B.B.A. from Iona College.
Stephen D. Susano, Chief Operating Officer
Stephen Susano is a Regional Director with Steben & Company. Prior to joining Steben, he served as Managing Partner for Innovative Options Management, which was a volatility arbitrage hedge fund manager. For nearly 20 years, Mr. Susano has served in a variety of senior business development roles working with institutional and retail investors in the U.S. and overseas markets. Mr. Susano earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Adam B.Weinstein, Chief Financial Officer
Adam Weinstein is the Director and Controller of New Mountain Capital, LLC, a New York based private equity, public equity and debt manager with over $8.5 billion in assets under management. He is also the Chief Financial Officer of New Mountain Finance Holdings, LLC, a BDC that New Mountain Capital has filed to take public. Since 2005, Adam has had extensive exposure to the hedge fund industry, helping to build the operations and investor support side of New Mountain's $1.7 billion hedge fund. He previously worked at Deloitte & Touche, LLP, in the M&A and private equity investor services areas, and sits on the board of the Great Oaks Foundation. Adam is a published writer and New York State Certified Public Accountant. He received his B.S., summa cum laude, from Binghamton University.
Carol Van Atten, Vice President
Carol Van Atten is currently the Vice President for Programs at the Charles Hayden Foundation in New York, which focuses on the development of children and youth in the New York and Boston metropolitan areas. Carol oversees the grantee progress within an annual portfolio of $17 million and is responsible for establishing grant strategies. Carol also serves as Chair of the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Global Impact Funding Trust and is a Member of the Corporation of the New York Botanical Garden. She has served on the Allocations Committee for the New York Women's Foundation. Carol received her AB in Economics from Vassar College and JD from Brooklyn Law School.
Timothy G. Sledge, Director
Mr. Sledge is a Principal and one of the senior analysts of Bessemer's Global Large Cap Equities Team. His specific coverage includes US and European large cap banks and life insurance companies. Prior to joining Bessemer, he was with Davis Advisors, Robert R. Meredith & Co., BlackRock, and Sanford C. Bernstein where he covered life insurance companies as a research associate. Mr. Sledge is a CFA charterholder and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. degree in English and Economics.
Dave M. Cielusniak, Treasurer
David M. Cielusniak is currently the Chief Operating Officer to Conquest Capital Group LLC, a quantitative macro hedge fund. Prior to joining Conquest, Mr. Cielusniak was counsel to the Alternative Investment Division at Credit Suisse where he provided legal coverage to hedge funds and various alternative products. Before Credit Suisse, he was an attorney for the Alternative Investment Management Division at Lehman Brothers and was a former Corporate/M&A associate for the law firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. Mr. Cielusniak graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University with a concentration in Finance and minor in Economics. He also holds a Juris Doctorate from the Fordham University School of Law.
Colin Roberts, Secretary
Colin Roberts is an associate in the New York office of Alston & Bird LLP, where he is a member of the firm's Financial Services and Products Group. Colin focuses his practice on advising private investment fund sponsors in their investment and acquisition activities, debt and equity securities offerings, and issues relating to private fund formation and compliance. Colin has advised clients in the hedge fund industry on a broad spectrum of issues, including fund formation, ongoing compliance with SEC, CFTC, NFA, and FINRA rules and regulations, legal due diligence on behalf of hedge fund investors, and advice with respect to the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 for those sponsors who are registered investment advisers. Colin received his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law and earned a B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University, where he double majored in finance and real estate finance.
Megan K. Flynn, Assistant Secretary
Megan is currently at Brigade Capital Management, LLC, an SEC registered investment advisor. Prior to that she was an AVP at Legg Mason Global Asset Management where she covered Global Corporate Actions for Legg Mason affiliates around the world. Prior to joining Legg Mason, she was with Merrill Lynch. Megan graduated from Fairfield University with a concentration in International Business and is a published writer.
