We are pleased to announce that Todd Groome, Non-Executive Chairman of the Alternative Investment Management Association (“AIMA”), will be our speaker for September. Todd has kindly set aside time during his travels to attend the G20 meetings to talk to us about the future for cross-border hedge fund regulation. Prior to joining AIMA at the start of this year, Todd led the IMF’s Monetary and Capital Markets Department and was responsible for multilateral surveillance activities and review of key capital markets issues. Prior to this role, he held senior positions at Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch and law firm Hogan & Hartson.

Continuing with our 2009 theme of “Hedge Funds Responding to Crisis,” we have invited Robert Albertson, Principal and Chief Strategist for Sandler O’Neill, to be our guest speaker for May. Robert will offer his views on our current credit “crisis,” the imbalances injected by the US government, and some of the issues presented by some of the Treasury and Federal Reserve’s rescue programs, including the Troubled Asset Relief Program (“TARP”), the Public/Private Investment Partnership (“PPIP”), and the Term Asset-Backed Securities Lending Facility (“TALF”). Robert has a long and distinguished career as an investment banker and analyst following banks and other financial companies at Goldman Sachs and Smith Barney, before joining Sandler O’Neill in 1999. He is a frequent guest commentator on CNN, CNBC and Nightly Business, and is a frequent speaker before banking industry and supervisory organizations, including many of the top 25 U.S. banks, the New York Federal Reserve Bank and the Bank for International Settlements.
