Jim O'SullivanJim O'Sullivan, a senior economist at UBS, will give his views and initiate a discussion on the macro drivers for financial markets in 2008. Housing is in recession; can the broad economy stay resilient? How large a threat is the turmoil in mortgage markets? The Fed to the rescue? Wall Street versus Main Street? Our "open forum" should generate a good discussion, with input from members on what they see from their specialized viewpoints.
Jim O'Sullivan is a Managing Director and Senior U.S. Economist at UBS Investment Bank. He was co-ranked first in the economics category of the 2007 Institutional Investor (II) survey of fixed income investors. He holds an M.A. in economics from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and a B.A. in economics from Trinity College Dublin.
